  • Couples Corner Counselling provides professional counselling services for individuals, couples, and families across New Brunswick, both in person in Moncton and through secure online sessions. These services are designed to support emotional well‑being, strengthen relationships, and help clients navigate life’s challenges using research‑based, trauma‑informed approaches.

    Couples and marriage counselling

Services for couples focus on issues such as communication problems, recurring conflict, affairs and infidelity, loss of trust, financial stress, parenting challenges, separation or divorce, and concerns about sex and intimacy. Counsellors use evidence‑based methods (including EFT and Gottman‑informed approaches) to help partners repair disconnection, rebuild closeness, and create healthier patterns together.

    Family therapy

Family therapy supports families dealing with strained relationships, marital issues affecting the family, concerns about children, conflict, communication difficulties, trust, and overall family dynamics. Sessions offer a structured space to improve understanding, set healthier boundaries, and work together toward a more stable, respectful home environment.

    Individual counselling

Individual counselling is available for adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, self‑esteem and identity concerns, past trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, or the impact of relationship difficulties on their personal well‑being. The focus is on helping each person feel more grounded, understood, and equipped with practical tools for change.

  • Services at Couples Corner Counselling are provided by Licensed Counselling Therapists (LCTs) and Registered Social Workers (RSWs), and are often covered by many insurance plans. Coverage can vary, so it is recommended that you contact your insurance company to confirm whether counselling with an LCT or RSW is included in your benefits.

All fees from sessions with an LCT or RSW may also qualify as a medical expense that can be claimed on your income tax return. If you have questions about fees or insurance, you can reach out to the clinic for more detailed information.

  • Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length. Sessions are offered via secure online video counselling or in‑person counselling, allowing you to choose what works best for your schedule and comfort.

During the first session, your therapist will get to know you (and your partner or family if applicable), explore what has brought you to counselling, and work with you to clarify your goals for therapy. Video counselling provides additional benefits such as convenience, flexibility, and access to specialized couples therapists who may not be available locally.

  • Couples Corner Counselling offers counselling services to people living across New Brunswick. Clients can attend sessions in person in Moncton or online from anywhere in the province through secure video counselling. We can also provide video counselling to clients living in Nova Scotia and Ontario.

  • The number of sessions varies from person to person and from couple to couple. Some people feel they have gotten what they need after a few sessions, while others prefer or benefit from support over a longer period of time.

There is no requirement to commit to a set number of sessions, and there is no limit on how many you can attend. Your therapist will discuss progress and recommendations with you over the course of therapy so you can decide together what feels right.

  • Couples Corner Counselling has a large team of therapists with a wide variety of specialties and scheduling options, many of whom are accepting new clients. Not all available therapists appear on the online booking page, so if you do not see a fit or time that works for you, you are encouraged to reach out directly.

The clinic can help match you with a therapist based on your needs, preferences, and availability. You can contact the team through the website’s contact form, by phone at 506‑889‑6017, or by email at adcouplescorner@gmail.com, and you can also learn more about the team on the “Our Team” page.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence‑based approach to counselling that focuses on improving emotional connection and attachment in relationships. In couples and family work, EFT helps people recognize negative interaction cycles, understand the deeper emotions driving those patterns, and create new, more secure ways of reaching for and responding to each other.

Research has shown EFT to be effective in reducing relationship distress and increasing closeness and satisfaction. Therapists at Couples Corner Counselling integrate EFT principles to help clients feel safer, more understood, and more connected.

  • The Gottman Method is a research‑based approach to couples therapy developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It focuses on strengthening friendship and intimacy, improving communication and conflict management, and building shared meaning in relationships.

Gottman‑informed therapy often includes structured conversations, practical tools, and exercises that help couples reduce criticism and defensiveness and increase respect, affection, and teamwork. Therapists at Couples Corner Counselling draw on Gottman‑informed strategies as part of an integrated, tailored approach.

  • Yes. Secure online video counselling is available for individuals, couples, and families across New Brunswick. Online sessions offer convenience and flexibility, especially for those with busy schedules, mobility limitations, or who live outside of Moncton.

The same research‑based, trauma‑informed methods used in person are also used online, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
